Curtis Mickan, a former CEO in Dallas, was born and raised in Georgetown, Texas. His great-grandfather founded this family ranch in the 1870s. For generations this land has produced cotton, corn, wheat and been grazed by cattle.
Curtis Mickan bought this land back in the 1970s, and has been raising cattle and farming on it ever since. Central Texas Olive Ranch broke ground in a big way on January 2, 2009 and planted 23,000 trees in a high density formation on 33 acres of sandy, well-drained soil.
Along with grandson Joshua Swafford, Curtis Mickan now owns and manages the first olive grove in Central Texas.
