The Mickan Family has owned and farmed the Central Texas Olive Ranch land since the 1870s. They transitioned from traditional row crops and livestock in January, 2009. Now the land boasts 23,000 Arbequina, Arbosana and Koroneiki trees. Three generations of the Mickan Family are actively engaged in the operation.
We produce our olive oil on land that has been in the Mickan family since the 1870s. Our initial orchard has 23,000 Arbosana, Arbequina and Koroneiki trees. We selected that blend of trees to create our special blend of high quality extra virgin olive oil with a buttery taste and a lightly peppered finish.
The olive oil that most people enjoy has often been languishing on a retailer's shelves or in transit for weeks or months. We keep our oil ultra fresh by storing it in large totes in a climate controlled environment where the temperature is maintained at the optimal temperature of 72 degrees fahrenheit.
